            Use Case:

Monitoring for rounded transaction values is essential for identifying potentially suspicious or non-compliant spending, as rounded values in multiples of $100 may indicate inflated or fabricated expenses.

The Round Value risk analytic flags transactions where the value, in local currency, is rounded to multiples of $100, which may be unusual for certain business expenses like meals. For example, if an employee submits multiple expense reports over several months with meal costs consistently rounded to $200 or $300, this pattern could suggest manipulation.

The analytic excludes transactions under $0.01 (as they are too small to be relevant), lodging expenses (since hotel rates are often naturally rounded), and personal expenses (which fall outside the scope of business policy monitoring). By focusing on employee expenses and business-related transaction amounts, the analytic enables organizations to detect and investigate spending patterns that may warrant further review, helping to ensure compliance and prevent financial misuse.
