Default Currency for Total Spend Amounts
Use Case
Default currency for total spend amounts is always USD, however, customers have the option to change the default currency across the platform.
Organizations who primarily work with a currency other than USD may wish to change their default currency to better match their business needs. When changing the default currency, users still have the option to enter other currencies for each recipient and/or support category. Any currency and amount entered for recipients and support categories are then automatically converted into the default currency and displayed in the total amount.
Things to Note
- Default currency for the total amounts can not be set based on business users location or other factors. Only one default currency can be selected. For example, we cannot set the system to display the default currency for users in Europe to EUR and to display CAD for users in Canada.
- CurrencyLayer API is used to get conversation rates in real time. We do not support adding specific conversion rates for specific currencies within the application.
Once a default currency is set for the application, all total amounts in data extracts, Insights and requests are displayed in the default currency. Business users still have the capability to enter amounts in desired currency for each recipient and support category.
- Total monetary amounts within single recipient and multi-recipient request types

Note: Total amounts are only shown in the default currency (example above). Other amounts within the request (such as support categories) are set to the default currency, but can be changed to any other currency (example below). Any amounts entered in other currencies are converted to the default currency when added to the total.
