Approver Groups
What is an Approver Group?
Approver Groups consist of users who can be chosen as approvers within their designated group. The number of groups and the type of groups are defined for your organization during the onboarding process.
- If only one user is assigned to an Approver Group, that user will pre-populate in a request as the approver for that group.
- If more than one user is assigned to the same Approver Group, the submitter of the request will have to choose the correct person from the dropdown list of approvers.
In the example below, there are three approver groups. Ramona Hensley is assigned to the External Counsel approver group. For requests requiring an External Counsel approver, the submitter can choose from all assigned users in that group.
Or, if Ramona is the only user assigned to the group, Ramona will be pre-populated as the approver for any requests requiring an External Counsel approver.

How to Add/Remove users from an Approver Group
User Admins can add or remove users from Approver Groups by following the instructions below:
First, locate the user you want to add or remove by going to Admin → Acess Management → User Management. Then click the Edit icon on the right.

Within the Groups tab, Select/ Deselect the checkmarks on the left to add or remove the user from a group. Then click Save Changes.
Note: If your organization has a long list of approver groups, use the Search icon at the top right corner.

Why is the approver blank when trying to submit a request?
HR & Manager Approvers typically populate from your organization's HR file. If one of those approver types is not populating, please follow the instructions found here: HR Fields within Master Data → Individuals → Employees.
If another approver group is blank when trying to submit a request, no user is assigned to that group. Please follow the instructions above to add a user to the group, then have the submitter of the request try again.
